Yoganishtha Swami Karmaveer Ji Maharaj is the founder of "Maharishi Patanjali International Yoga Vidyapeeth".
Swami Karmaveer is the first person in the world to be awarded a Masters degree in Yoga by Gurukul Kangri University, Haridwar, India.
He has spent more than fifteen years in the Himalayas in search of spirituality and truth.
• Birth and education
Swami Karmaveer was born into a cultured and educated peasant family. Since childhood, he was inclined towards spiritual life. He drew inspiration from the life and teachings of various saints and yogis, especially Maharishi Swami Dayanand Saraswati and entered Sannyas Ashram at a very young age. He obtained a post graduate degree in Veda, Darshan and Yoga by Gurukul Kangri, a university located on the banks of the holy Ganges in Haridwar city, India.

• Work
After completing education in Vedas, Darshan and Yoga, he moved towards the northern region of India to the areas along the Assam and India Bhutan border and engaged in the welfare of tribals with the help of Yoga and Ayurveda. After some time, he left for the Himalayan Mountains and meditated for many years by staying in the tents there. During his stay and excursion in the mountain ranges of Himalayas, he received the company of many distinguished saints and sages. Thereafter, he devoted his life completely to the propagation of Vedas and Yoga knowledge and welfare of human life.
